Susan Millican O'Brian

Susan M. O'Brian is the founder of the Law Offices of Susan Millican O'Brian & Associates, PS. She practices exclusively in the area of family law.

Ms. O'Brian has represented clients in many cases involving significant property interests, including but not limited to the valuation and disposition of retirement, pension, employment benefits and stock option interests, as well as spousal maintenance, parenting, and child support. Ms. O'Brian is committed to her clients, and listens to their concerns and goals. She has developed an effective style of paying meticulous attention to detail, unwavering advocacy on behalf of her clients and a dedication to professionalism that is recognized by her clients, the court and the opposing party.

Billie L. Grissom

Billie L. Grissom is an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Susan Millican O'Brian & Associates, PS. She and Susan take a team approach to providing the most efficient and highest quality legal services to their clients.

Billie offers her clients knowledge and empathy, having faced the same family law challenges herself. Her focus and emphasis is on client advocacy during a very difficult time. Although she is equally effective as a courtroom litigator, Billie believes the collaborative method is an effective alternative to litigation and uniquely suited to the practice of family law. Billie is the past Vice-Chair and 2006/07 Chairperson of the Washington Collaborative Law's Family Law Practice Group.

Billie has a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Washington and received her law degree from Seattle University School of Law. With her first loves being reading and writing, the practice of law is the perfect fit. Billie also brings to the firm knowledge and experience of the inner workings of King County Superior Court, gleaned from her many years of past work with the Court's Drug Court Program and Clerk's Office.

Kristilyn Reese

Kristilyn Reese is an associate attorney in the Law Offices of Susan Millican O'Brian & Associates, P.S., she has long had an affinity for children and family issues. She graduated with a B.S. in elementary education cum laude from the University of Oregon and planned to study for a masters at Columbia University in New York when the disaster of September 11, 2001, intervened. Like many people at that time, she re-thought her priorities and changed course. Kristilyn received a full academic scholarship for the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She graduated high in her class, earned a certificate in legal writing from the top legal writing program in the country and served as president of the Association of Women Law Students. During law school, Kristilyn clerked for a Superior Court Judge, which gave her a unique insight into the judicial process.

Kristilyn has also worked in business and real estate law, which has given her a strong understanding of the financial and property issues that are inherent in family law. "I fight for my clients in all aspects of their cases. Decisions that clients make now can have an immense impact on their future and I make it my priority that my clients understand the entire process and all options that are available

Staff

Melodie J. Garrison

Melodie J. Garrison has been with the firm since March 2001. A graduate of the Edmonds Community College Paralegal Program, Melodie has continued her education by participating in several educational classes sponsored by the Washington State and King County Bar Associations. During the past five years Melodie has gained extensive experience in the area of family law, and truly enjoys working with our clients. In addition to her many legal assistant duties, she is also the Billing Assistant. She is a joy to work with and an important part of our practice.

Denise D. Moss

Denise D. Moss joined the firm in 2005. A graduate of the Edmonds Community College Paralegal Program, Denise is a Seattle native who spent the last seven years working as a family law paralegal in Los Angeles, where she worked for such prestigious law firms as Nachshin & Weston, and Kleeman-Kremen. In addition, she completed advanced family law paralegal courses at UCLA. Denise brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice, having specialized in complex litigation and cases involving extensive discovery. We are excited to have her as part of our team.

Kelsey Saint Clair

Kelsey Saint Clair joined the firm in June of 2007. She graduated from Redmond High School in Redmond, WA. She is currently a Junior at Seattle University and majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Spanish. Her plan is to attend law school at either Seattle University or at the University of Washington. Kelsey is our Administrative Assistant and is currently also in charge of the billing. Kelsey brings a fun loving and energetic attitude to everything that she does in the office.
