Marcia Gay Harden Calls It Quits With Her Husband of 15 Years

|

Ending your marriage can be debilitating and exhausting. This is especially true if children are thrown into the mix. Many divorces involve custody and visitation disputes over the kids. Usually, these battles can be ugly. In addition, one must deal with many financial and legal difficulties within the divorce process.

In recent news, another celebrity marriage has fallen. Within the process of their separation, this renowned couple will undoubtedly have to address many financial and legal matters. A source reports that Oscar and Tony winner, Marcia Gay Harden, has filed for divorce from Thaddeus Scheel, her husband of 15 years. The couple married in 1996.

Many Washington residents recall Harden for her recurring role on "Law & Order: SVU." The actress won an Emmy nomination for the show. Furthermore, she won an Oscar in 2001 for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a painter in the "Pollock." Additionally, in 2009, she added a Tony to her list of achievements for her part in "God of Carnage."

The couple has two young daughters and a son. However, a spokesperson for the actress made a statement: "For the sake of the couple's three children, Harden would like to request that the family's privacy be respected at this time."

Though Harden is keeping her divorce private, she will inevitably have to confront issues that will affect her children's lives. Where will they live? Who will have primary custody of the children? Will visitation be an issue? Hopefully, the couple will amicably approach these issues.

If you are confronting various emotional, financial, and legal issues in the process of your divorce, you may want to speak to an attorney. They can help guide you through the complexities of the separation process.
